If you have very little time, the ROM machine may be the workout machine for you.
There is a great deal of information available today about the benefits of just a little exercise in our everyday lives. Most people will take 10 minutes at the drive thru for a latte twice a day, but avoid a daily 30 minute walk or a 20 minute morning stretch routine. What would you say if I told you that you could achieve a full body workout in exactly 8 minutes?
I was skeptical at first until, in 2005, I was invited to give the ROM Machine a try. As an avid lifetime Olympic-style swimmer I'm familiar with intense workouts, so I will admit I was a bit skeptical. Today I own 2 Range-of-Motion machines which are available for use in my gym. I offer first-time sessions at no cost which include personal, hands-on instruction by me.
The ROM offers a better workout in 4 minutes than 45 minutes on conventional exercise equipment. This machine provides a well-rounded exercise program; stretching, strength training, muscle toning, and aerobic training. Despite claims that aerobic workouts require at least 20-45 minutes, this machine can achieve the same in a few minutes. The ROM's designer states, "...the machine takes your limbs through a far wider range of motion (ROM) than other machines can offer. As a result far more muscle is exercised, and exercise duration can be decreased. The ROM exercise machine also provides superior fat burning..." With adjustable fitness level. Control panel shows time, current pace, target pace, time remaining and percent of target reached. Foot pad adjustable for height. Steel construction with all moving parts polished and chromed; welded black frame.
Research at USC Laval University in Canada and at Japan's National Institute of Fitness and Sports Research confirm that involving greater muscle amounts and optimum resistance, plus full range of motion, greatly reduces the complete workout time. For two months, 18 students at USC worked out on the ROM for only four or eight minutes a day, five days a week. Fifteen of the students increased their VO2 Max, which indicates the efficiency of oxygen transfer to the blood - the basic measure of cardiovascular fitness. In the eight-minute group there was an average 5.5% loss in body fat. Usually only top athletes can achieve the intensity necessary to get aerobic benefits in four minutes of working out.
Most of my clients that try it continue to come back several times a week and experience varying degrees of results. It's all about your level of commitment to yourself. There's no obligation, so there is little reason not to give it a try - what are you waiting for? Contact me today for information about how you can try-out or purchase the ROM machine!
